Introduction
In September 2006, the Minnesota Historical Society received a $1 million grant from the Bush Foundation to extend its technological capacity and collaborate with cultural heritage institutions in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota to develop a regional infrastructure called the Great Rivers Network (GRN).
The goal of this project is to expand our capacity to create, manage, preserve and provide access to digital content across county and state boundaries. This portal will allow users to explore the online collections of the GRN partners, facilitating the discovery of diverse resources such as photographs, artifacts, manuscripts, vital records and library catalogs.
